A splendid painting on panel depicting the enchanting and festive scene of the Adoration of the shepherds, in the typical style of Veneto-Cretan art where sixteenth-century Venetian painting of the Bassano merges with Greco-Cretan culture.  

It is a beautiful example of Venetian influence over its Mediterranean domains, which, with a particularly successful result, combines Venetian art with Byzantine art.  

Datable to the second half of the 17th century, it still preserves the stylistic heritage of the previous century, and its excellent state of preservation, with very vivid and perfectly maintained colors, allows for perfect appreciation in every detail.  

A magnificent gilded and richly decorated tabernacle frame highlights the painting in an excellent manner.
