A splendid, large-scale work, exquisitely sculpted in full-figure, in a rounded shape.
The figure stands erect in a solemn pose, and the vertical line maintains Renaissance canons.
The movement of the robes is extraordinary, with an incredible sequence of folds and drapes highlighted by luminous silver reflections.
The Virgin wears a crown on her head, holding in place the long, wavy hair that flows down her back.
The facial expression is truly extraordinary.
The glassy eyes are a characteristic of Southern Italian Baroque sculpture and contribute to the strikingly realistic look.
