"Idyllic Pastoral Landscape"
Francesco Zuccarelli
(Pitigliano 1702-Florence1788) attributed

 Oil painting on canvas
Second half of the 18th century
Beautiful coeval gilded frame.
Canvas size 56 x 44 frame 72 x 60

 Very good condition
The painting is still on the first canvas.

This beautiful work, very decorative, clearly reflects the most typical landscape of the 18th century in the middle of the Rococo period. The Arcadian description of the landscape leads us to the production of Francesco Zuccarelli, who after working in Florence for Paolo Anesi, from whom he assimilates a remarkable technique, moves to Venice, and here completes his career as an extraordinary Rococo landscape painter. His painting, like that of his Venetian contemporaries Canaletto, Giuseppe Zais and Antonio Diziani, was particularly appreciated abroad, especially by English collectors who came to Italy. This small canvas comes from an English collection and in England it was perfectly accompanied by a beautiful rocaille frame with an attributive plate.
