We present this magnificent work by Maratta certain of being able to satisfy even the most selective collectors. It is a splendid canvas by one of the most celebrated authors of Italian Baroque painting and many of his creations are exhibited in major international museums (Metropolitan, National Gallery, Rijksmuseum and many others). The Christ still Child in the attitude of "Salvator Mundi" is depicted with a highly effective pictorial ability and the face of the little protagonist really has a magnetic gaze. The painting, of limited size, was probably commissioned for private use and the face of Christ Child has beautiful features highlighted by the great skill of Maratta in portraiture. The subject is particularly intriguing, as well as very pleasant, and cheers both the sight and the soul. It is certainly a small masterpiece by Carlo Maratta that manages to fascinate the viewer and to involve him in the message of the Protagonist.
