This elegant 16th century Emilian canvas depicts the apparition of the Archangel Gabriel in the presence of the Virgin to announce the Great Event of the Immaculate Conception.
The scene is described in an essential way with an image of extraordinary purity but full of emotion.
The work presents the characteristics of sixteenth-century Emilian and Ferrarese painting and in particular approaches the ways of Giovanni Battista Cremonini born in Cento (Ferrara) and working in Bologna in the late sixteenth century.
The conditions of the painting allow us an optimal reading with a color still alive and an excellent result on the wall.
