This splendid Piedmontese chest of drawers from the 18th century surprises with its exceptional elegance, highlighted by the magnificent proportions and by a decorative inlay system of remarkable finesse.
The front decoration is characterized by a central medallion surrounded by a series of geometric motifs in woods with warm and luminous tones, and is repeated on the sides and on the top.
The choice of the cabinetmaker to opt for the two-drawer solution instead of the more usual three-drawer version makes the furniture extremely slender and light with long and slightly wavy legs, a legacy of the Louis XV period that has just ended.
In fact, this rare chest of drawers has all the characteristics that distinguish the Louis XVI style, from the medallions to the handles, but is refined by the high and sinuous legs, the only exception to the rigorously straight lines and a transitional element between the two eras.
The piece of furniture is absolutely authentic in all its external and internal parts.
