Master of the Venetian Renaissance
Late 16th century
Good condition for its age.
Relined, with scattered restorations and paint fixation.
A 16th-century Venetian canvas depicting three portraits of saints with intense hieratic expressions.
The faces are slightly profiled and the eyes are turned upward, clearly seeking divine contact.
Despite the signs of aging, though completely consolidated, the work is of great stylistic elegance and still conveys a powerful sense of meaning.
The three figures are executed with great skill in male portraiture, typical of the Venetian Renaissance masters, among whom the artist of the canvas must certainly be placed.
