Beautiful and rare carved and gilded wooden sculpture depicting the Virgin Mary holding the Child Jesus, certainly of Spanish origin, dating back to the late 17th century.

The sculpture is in good condition, still featuring the splendid original pure gold plating, which covers the entire surface of the work except for the polychrome painted faces.

It has small defects and signs of aging consistent with its age.

The wood is very healthy, intact, and has not suffered the annoying attacks of wood parasites that compromise the solidity of wooden sculptures.

The brightness of the gilding and its compact size make it particularly attractive and easy to place.
