A charming little scene set in a kitchen, beautifully painted.
The protagonists are two charming old men sitting at a rustic table, one busy opening and eating a plate of mussels, the other drinking from a glass.

The composition is a typical example of traditional Flemish painting, particularly Dutch, always attentive to the details of both the figures and the objects depicted scattered across the walls and floor.
