The painting depicts one of the most characteristic Venetian views, interpreted by the great masters of 18th-century painting, among whom Canaletto and Bernardo Bellotto stood out.

The painting refers to the famous canvases with this subject by the two leaders of the school, executed by a valid artist who captures the style and the same typical atmosphere.

The white architecture of the Scuola di S. Marco illuminated by the sun are the protagonists in the center of the view, with the Campo dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo. The Canale dei Mendicanti is crossed by the Ponte Cavallo. On the right, a splendid noble palace is reflected in the waters of the canal.

The canvas is enlivened by the characteristic characters and typical boats of Venice.

The painting has been relined and placed in a beautiful 19th century gilded frame.
