Beautiful antique frame in carved and gilded wood

 This small oil on canvas jewel depicts the Church of Santa Maria del Rosario better known as the "Church of the Gesuati".

The building overlooks the lagoon in front of the Giudecca and it is really interesting to note the numerous and substantial changes undergone by the eighteenth-century buildings on the sides of the church during the nineteenth century.

The painting has all the characteristics of the Venetian school of the Golden Age, that '700 of the splendid views and Rococo furnishings so loved and sought after by collectors.

The descriptive and chromatic peculiarities are closely related to the work of Francesco Tironi and his workshop, while the size of the work is typical of the works carried out to meet the needs of refined and wealthy travelers.

In fact, in addition to the creation of major works, Tironi's workshop specialized in limited representations of the most significant panoramas of the extraordinary Lagoon City.

The painting is on the first canvas, in very good condition and perfectly framed.
